McMansions and Gorgeous Dinosaurs

We called them McMansions for a long time. Those custom built houses with thousands of square feet, marble & granite everything, the newest appliances, sweeping staircases, 10 car garages, the best gizmos and awesome views. If the infinite pools didn’t convince you that you needed a Mcmansion the envy would keep your mind twirling.

Today we might as well call them Gorgeous Dinosaurs. Big houses on large properties way, way out of town. What was once a luxury has now become a burden. Houses that were once occupied and used are shut down to a few rooms if they are being used at all. And the expense of driving back and forth to work, school or into town is now overwhelming, never mind heating and maintenance.

The price of these houses are now coming down to more affordable. The sellers no longer ...
